Well as it happens we have a couple from the happy zone on the road again. Yes Robert and Celeste got a bit of wanderlust and have taken off for a few days. That's nice for them but I'll tell you what, they missed one hell of a dominos game last night. We had Rich and Carole, Dennis and Lana, Debby and I all playing. You are probably asking yourself "What happened to Steve and Scott". Well they had to watch the NASCAR race. I mean please, you can't see a race like nine months out of the year on the weekends. More than likely 25% of the races are on Saturday night. So don't bother telling me that they had to watch the race. Whatever, we had a blast! We did make one miscalculation though, we let Debby keep score. Oh my gosh, that was a riot. Mind you I wouldn't have done any better, but it doesn't keep me from giggling over her job. About 3/4 of the way through the game she realized she should have been totaling up the scores as we go. We also lost track of what number we needed to start the round. But hey, she volunteered and in the end she got it done so I say, "you go girl!", however when Celeste gets back we'll turn the score pad back over to her.
Now you might be asking yourself another question, I know I did, "Where the heck were Carol and Clayton?" Well they were taking care of some things around the house. Now Carol and Clayton, if you're reading this, Monday through Friday are the days you work around the house. The weekends are reserved for The Happy Zone.
I hope everyone weathers the impending hurricane without trouble. Stay safe out there and stay tuned for next weekend, a holiday weekend. I can't wait!!!!!!!

Watchin' the Olympics in the Happy Zone
Some of our Happy Zoners have come home. Some of our Happy Zoners are on their way home. The Happy Zoner at home is feeling good. In the last few weeks we have learned canasta and we have learned and played dominoes and we are getting ready to cheer for our USA team at the Olympics. Tonight the opening ceremonies will be viewed at the Baker's. We will all be sitting around outside watching our Olympians march through the stadium and cheering and just having a great time enjoying everybody's company.
I sure do hope all of you Happy Zoners on the road are going to take some time tonight to watch the opening ceremonies of the Olympics in London and cheer for our young athletes. Be careful all you Happy Zoners that are still out on the road we are shooting for 6 and 0 safe returns.

In the meantime Robert, Celeste, Steve, and I are going to play canasta and have a bang up night.
USA! USA! USA! USA! USA!
God bless America (come on, I expect you to sing along) land that I LOVE, stand beside her and guide here through the night with the light from above, from the mountains to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam, (come on people, this is the crescendo) GOD BLESS AMERICA MY HOME SWEET HOME, God bless America my home sweet home.
Rich, I think you can put a little more heart into it. Carol, I didn't hear you, I know it's not Super Freak. Dennis, if you can't remember the words just read. Nice singing Lana. Scott, you were just moving your lips, that doesn't count. Penny, I don't think Gary even tried. OK everybody I think we are just going to have to practice for next year.

Debby Does Jacksonville
First I just want to say the title of this blog entry was suggested to me by Robert and Celeste who were there to witness the act. Robert and Celeste were at the title office to settle on the house, OH did I forget to mention we have new homeless people in the Happy Zone? YES, THAT'S RIGHT Robert and Celeste have officially and finally sold their house. They are homeless people now, and they are thrilled about it. So back to Debby, the report is the rain was howling in Jacksonville so badly Robert and Celeste had to wait before heading back to the Happy Zone.
So anyway, hip, hip, hooray to Robert and Celeste for getting out from under their biggest obstacle to a happy retirement. I hope all of you Happy Zoner's are having a wonderful time, where ever you are and you all stay safe and sound. More from the Happy Zone at Home later.

Water Logged Update
Okay so Noah and I were talking about how this has just been such a rainy spring and summer so far. Of course you know with men of that generation, guys that are several thousand years old, they always have to go on and on and one up you, he said he can remember rain that was so much worse, you know telling me how it just rained and rained and rained for days and days and days. After a little while I just thought oh whatever and I said goodbye, and I waved as he floated by in a ridiculous looking hugh boat. So it has been raining here in the Happy Zone and the Happy Zone is starting to look more like the wet and moldy zone but we will endeavor to go on. This weather is supposed to continue until Saturday. As I'm sitting here writing this it is pouring outside. This storm, named Debby, has turned into one heck of a trouble maker. Now that just doesn't surprise me.
Today, if all the stars are in the proper alignment and the planets are doing a perfect rotation around the sun, Robert and Celeste will be going to the settlement table. Let's all keep our fingers crossed that everything goes off without a hitch, God knows they deserve it. I'm sure that all of the settlement shenanigans will give this blogger lots of fodder for the Happy Zone at Home blog, so be looking for an update soon.
Now on to the topic of "Renters". After a snit back and forth through e-mails, Robert and Celeste's renters took off yesterday. They really were taking advantage of Robert and Celeste's good nature and when Robert and Celeste would bend no more for fear of breaking, they packed up their RV and left. Well I say good riddance, Celeste thinks they won't be back even though they were return renters, and that is a shame, but hopefully new rental opportunities will pop up. I'm not quite sure having these rental lots is worth the trouble. Just my opinion.
Well I think that's all for now kids, more will be reported as it happens. Happy travels and stay safe out there.

Rainy Day Saturday
As discussed in my previous blog, "Lights, Camera, . . . ACTION", we went today to see "Men In Black III" with Robert and Celeste. It was a perfect day to take in a movie, rainy and muggy and just overall yucky. We decided on a 2:25 showing, that way we can take advantage of the matinee prices. Let me tell you what, the flipp'n price to get into a movie is high enough without having to see it at premium times.
We decide to leave the campground at 11:30 so that we have plenty of time to eat a nice lunch first. Of course, Steve and I, and Robert and Celeste are all very easy to please when it comes to eating establishments, so deciding where to go was impossible. We told Robert if he saw something that tickled his fancy he should just pull in, Celeste was a little nervous with that but acquiesced in the end. Steve remembered the Horse and Hound and made that suggestion and everyone agreed.
Well let me just tell you this, Robert was making these noises that could only be described as sexual in nature over his meal and I thought we were going to be asked to leave. After his rather obscene lunch was concluded he attempted to proposition the waitress, that was only just over the jail bait age for a dessert. We didn't let him go any further. We were sneaking in all sorts of candy to the movie for God's sake. What more does that man want?, no don't answer that, I don't want to know.
We got to the movie in plenty of time, actually we were early. I wanted a drink and Steve was thinking about getting a small popcorn, so he went up to the concession stand. He ordered a medium drink and small popcorn. The next part is the fatal mistake the clerk made, she asked him of he wanted to get a medium popcorn for just a dollar more. She held up both bags so you could get a size reference. At this point Steve frowned. He asked her how much the small popcorn, her reply was "$6, but the medium is only a dollar more". At this he was OUTRAGED, the sandwich size bag they gleefully refer to as a small was ridiculous! With his voice raised he said "the popcorn is six bucks?", he turned to me and said "can you believe this?, that bullshit and he just walked away", at this point I had a flash back to my last trip to the movies with Robert and Celeste and Robert's outrage over the price at the concession stand. Can it really be this difficult to go to the flipp'n movies. Lesson learned, don't let the guys go to the concession stand, they will only embarrass the hell out of you. On to the movie review . . .

If you don't remember the Golf Cart Rating chart please refer to the first blog. "Men In Black III" gets 4.5 golf carts. What a good movie, although I may have some pause before going to a Chinese restaurant the next time. Men In Black III had it all, great movie monster (oh gosh I'm going to have the creeps for weeks) great actors, I mean really, can you go wrong with either Will Smith (that little bit of milk chocolate is a favorite of this blogger) or Tommy Lee Jones, I don't think so, a great story line. I don't want to be a spoiler, but it even has a touching part at the end. I really like it and can recommend it completely.

Lights, Camera, . . .ACTION
Well the Happy Zone is down a few more members this week. We bid farewell to Rich and Carole. Bon voyage Happy Zone travelers, we will be looking forward to your return in August.
To bring you up to speed Scott and Debby won't be present in the Happy Zone this weekend cause it's Scotts weekend to work at the store then Debby said she was going to put him to work around the house. I think Scott bribed his mother to go into the hospital again so that he'd be able to get out of the "working around the house" thing to go sit with his mother. Well that sort of back fired cause Betty was only in the hospital one night. Sorry Scott, better luck next time!
We aren't expecting Dennis and Lana either. Lana was going to be working. Good luck working Lana. We are so happy that Lana's new job is working out so well. Thank God, she was really due a good turn in the job market.
So it is up to Robert, Celeste, Steve, and I to carry on and make the Happy Zone happy, so we are. Tomorrow is movie day. We are going to see "Men In Black III". I will be quick with the golf cart rating. So make sure you check back. Of course since Steve and I are trying to save up for retirement and Robert and Celeste are living on a fixed income we are going to a matinee and we are sneaking in candy. Last time we almost lost Robert when the concession stand tally was added up. We aren't going to take any chances this time.
One a last note, keep Robert and Celeste in your thoughts and prayers that their closing goes off without a hitch.
Robert says sorry Rich, you're going to miss a quiet weekend, ha ha!

Mayhem in the Happy Zone
Last night the Happy Zone was at it again! We decided to all get together since Rich and Carole will be leaving very soon. We had munchies and we bowled and it was a great evening. The festivities ended when a prehistoric size roach tried to crash the party. Poor Reese Cup got nervous when the damn thing tried to pick her up and carry her off. Steve smashed him and we thought we were safe, but when Debby went to check on it, he shook off Steve's lethal attack and was on the move again. Debby thought about going home to get her saddle and seeing if she could break this wild stallion but in the end she and Steve decided on a game of soccer using the extra large roach as the ball. There were screams from the spectators, in the end he was tossed far away from me and I was inside safe from freakishly large roaches, at least for the night.
Just so you know, if anybody from law enforcement comes asking questions, you don't know noth'n about the body found in the Happy Zone. The photos are graphic, so if you have a weak constitution please look away.
Oh the fun we have in the Happy Zone!!!!!

Wii Goin' Bowlin' in the Happy Zone
So last night we were bowling in the Happy Zone again. What fun we had!! We did have a couple faces missing, Dennis had to work, and Rich worked too hard putting up sun shades and had a headache, I think he just didn't want to be BESTED by a girl. Robert and I had the highest averages for the night, Ruth anne - 202 and Robert - 190. It was three good games, at least I think it was three good games. A few die hard crazies played a couple more games but the scores were all over the place and I won't even mention them.
Sunday Scott and Debby, and Steve and I took a road trip to Sam's to get a new picnic table for Scott and Debby's patio. It looks really nice too. Scott wasted no time getting that baby put together and set up.
So another weekend is coming to a close. The race is on outside. Most of us are hiding inside where it's cool. Lana left early, I think Robert and Celeste weren't quite ready to be done with their last hurrah in Jacksonville so they took off till Tuesday, and Scott and Debby will be taking off soon too. I hope all you travelers are having a great time. Be safe out there.

"Water Water Everywhere", I Think I Need a Drink
Oh my gosh we have had so much rain here in the happy zone. Yesterday cable was out for about six hours. Don stumbled across the street twice to "check" on us. Rich and Carole stopped by to visit, but there was a whole lot of nothing going on. The grass is nice and green, plants don't need watering, and hopefully this weekend we're going to be drying out just a bit, oh and don't anybody worry, the Happy Zone RV's and properties received no damage that I saw. Although there was one really gross incident on Monday. The renters in Wayne and Sue's site pulled out and didn't close off there black tank valve. Thank God I didn't see this. I guess they didn't dump the tank before taking off either. There was one hell of a mess to clean up from what I'm told. Rich had to make a run for bleach and he and Robert hosed the site and street down. Well maybe all this rain was a blessing from above. Can you imagine the remnants of a black tank baking in the street. YUCK!!!!!!!!!
Word on the street has it that the happy zone will have in attendance Dennis & Lana, Rich & Carole, Scott & Debbie, and Steve & Ruth anne. Scott said he would help Steve install the motor in our bedroom slide, Rich has offered his services too, and I'm sure we will work Dennis in there before all is said and done. Debbie and I talked about possibly taking a shopping trip if it gets too hot, I don't think it will take much convincing to get Lana and Carole on board with that idea. Robert and Celeste went to jacksonville and are staying till next week. It's this bloggers opinion that they are having a last "hurrah" at the house before it belongs to someone else, yes that's right my blogger friends, and remember you heard it here first. There are no confirmed reports of this kind of activity going on in Jacksonville but I would stake my reputation on it.
Well I think that's all for now kids, more will be reported as it happens. Happy travels and stay safe out there.

Happy Memorial Day!
This update is coming to you from the water logged campground.
The long weekend activities kicked off with the Baker's making a trip to Casselberry and coming home with new outdoor furniture. Well at least we think they got new furniture, Ruth anne won't let anyone sit on it so we aren't sure. Then later that night we had great news with the pending sale of the Wade estate. We spent the rest of the evening watching the parade of incoming campers, golf carts, and crazies.
Saturday started out nice but soon turned hotter then hell. The Happy Zone had late arrivals, the Stewart's were late coming in, damn retail. The Memorial Day BBQ was pushed up a day because of the storm coming our way. The Wades hosted dinner and boy did we eat well. Steve started at 4AM, yes I did say AM, slow cooking a pork butt, Carole came by to ask him how his butt was coming along and I think he got concerned. How forward of her, in front of his wife even, but then he realized she was talking about the roast and I think he was a little disappointed. Robert tried his hand at ribs and he did a damn good job. Rich and Carole wanted to make stuffed shrimp but they didn't come in, in time, so Carole brought cole slaw, Clayton has some competition, and a nice salad. Debby made famous root beer baked beams and a new favorite, Texas caviar. What a dinner we had. We ate to excess, as usual.
Now on Sunday we finished off the leftovers between rain showers and we are now sitting in the comfort of the Stewart's RV watching the NASCAR race, well the younger ones are watching the race the other ones have gone home for an early bedtime. I won't tell you what Debby called them. Tomorrow they are forecasting more showers so we will probably have a lazy day.
I hope all of you Happy Zoner's are having a wonderful Memorial Day, where ever you are and you all stay safe and sound. More from the Happy Zone at Home later.

May 22, 2012 Update
Last
Saturday we set out to the Blueberry Festival, not so great. We got there
plenty early and we still missed out on blueberries, blueberry muffins,
and blueberry pies. Can you believe that, no blueberries at the BLUEBERRY
FESTIVAL!!!! Whatever! I did hear someone singing Blue Christmas, yes Debby, I
realize the theme of the day was "blue", but really Blue
Christmas? I don't think so. I'm just
say'n. Don't get me wrong, we had a great time listening to people give the
cops lip, not smart if you ask me. We checked all the crafts. We even found a
few we can try ourselves. Yes we have more crafts to do in the Happy Zone.

Today a few of us (three to be
exact) went to a matinee showing of the movie "Battleship". I'm going
to use this blog update to introduce the Happy Zone Movie Rating System, the
"Golf Cart Scale".
One Golf Cart = don't waste your money
Two Golf Carts = eth, not so bad
Three Golf Carts = good
Four Golf Carts = very good
Five Golf Carts = EXCELLENT

Two Golf Carts = eth, not so bad
Three Golf Carts = good
Four Golf Carts = very good
Five Golf Carts = EXCELLENT
So now that
you have an understanding of the Golf Cart Scale, I rate Battleship at 4.5 Golf
Carts. It was a good movie. Don't believe the critics, they are by nature
critical. Rotten Tomatoes gave the movie a 35%, IMDb gave it a 6.3 out of a
potential 10. Now come on guys, it's a movie. It's entertainment, it's not
supposed to cure the ills of the world. Just give you a few exciting minutes in
a dark room with strangers all around.
This
weekend we will be having our Memorial Day Get Together. The Wades have graciously
offered to host our party. Robert is going to cook up some ribs, Steve is going
to slow cook a pork butt, Rich and Carole are going to stuff some shrimp, and
Debby is going to cook up a pot of baked beans. Oh we have got some good eating
ahead of us, as usual. We decided to do our celebrating on Sunday, that way we
can polish off any left overs (yeah, like we aren't going to have left
overs-come on guys, we ALWAYS over cook), on Monday.
So there
you have it, the what's happen'in in the Happy Zone.

New Blog
It was brought up while sitting around talking like we always do, that we ought to have a blog that those of you that are traveling can check to see what we who were left at home are up to. I think the honest motivation was that we wanted to make you so jealous of all the things we are doing and what fun you guys on the road are miss out on, so there! ha ha!
Anyway so we will be making updates here that you can read and we will make sure to have some photos when the occasion allows and we will be missing you till you're home again.
